This has been a great investment. With a dog and two people in our apartment we were really getting the carpet grubby quickly. This steam vacuum does a great job getting the carpet clean. Not quite as clean as the RugDoctor you can rent, but over time I've saved a lot of money on RugDoctor rentals.
I find the hotter the water you use, the better; go slow when you are scrubbing; and use a combination of the Hoover solution with some Oxy clean for carpets in the tank. Also pre-treat any really bad stains or spots. The product is easy to use, sturdy, and once you get the hang of it you can get it clean and close to dry in no time.
