I would love to say that I actually own it, but alas, it belongs to my 6 year old daughter who received it as a birthday gift from her father. It is amazing! So easy to use for children. It keeps them active while still enjoying a video game. The Wii Sports game that comes with it is a perfect starter game that keeps the young ones active. The console is very portable too. It ends up going back and forth to her fathers house and mine. Her dad just keeps it there a lot, so I really want my own so I can try the more adult games!!

The Wii is an innovative console and most of the games so far are pretty good, but I think the challenge for Wii is to get enough games that take advantage of the Wiimote. The Wii will not be able to compete with PS3 and XBOX360 in terms of more traditional games. It will need to continue to produce games that just cannot be played on the other systems.
Nintendo has tapped into the "non-gamer" market with this system. The questions is if it can take advantage of it. So far it's working well.

The most innovative video game system I've played in a long time. It's incredibly easy to pick up, and totally intuitive. Worth every penny.

It's a great way to get off the couch and get some exercise. You're active, but you're still playing video games. And in case being active doesn't work out for you, the safety of the couch is only a few feet away. Compare that to the dangerous idea of going outside.

I love the Wii! Nintendo has out done the competion by taking an active role (litterally) in trying to get kids more proactive. All the games on the Wii are controller by a motion sensored controller. Most games are designed so that the players must or at least should stand. There are several games such as Wii Sports that encourage more physical movements and a soon to be released Wii Fitiness which provides ways to excerise through games with the Wii. For any home where the parents are worried about being active a Wii should be present. It is the solution to inactive gamers that has been long awaited. : I love the Wii! Another game system that I bought for my son, yet use as much as he does! We love playing tennis with our customized "Miis". Why go out and get fresh air and excercise when you can play tennis standing in your living room? Seriously, this is great for rainy days. But, it never rains in California. Oh well, my wrist is really getting into shape.
The Nintendo Wii will make all other systems obsolete. You can play video games and get a workout (almost)? Wow, who would have thunk it?
Parents will love this as well for their little coach potatotes. The more they play video games, the more they exercise.
Nintendo Wii video game system is definatley third in the race for graphics power and hardware specs. In fact its quiet tame in that respect. But where it is not a looser is in it's ability to bring families together, get seniors on there feet and getting together and exercising together, getting kids up of the living room couch or floor and moving there body while they are actively participating in a video game.
To me that is not tame weak or loosing. That is coming out on top.
Just in my circle I know of some people that would never In a million years lower themselves to my level to play a video game, and I have had this same group of people in my living room playing the Wii sports. When it was over the system keeps a log of how long you played what games and I told them all that we had played for five hours. Of course they all denied it and that I must have made a mistake. So I think if parent are getting involved with there kids and it has brought families a bit of fun then I hope they keep thinking up
So much fun...now if only third-party developers would just stay on board the Wii-train o' fun!
Great for family games - takes game consoles to an entirely different level...not really news, just re-stating the obvious, but its true.
