About Dell
Dell is one of the common household names associated with personal computing. Founded by Michael Dell in 1984, the company is now a multinational technology corporation and a leader in the development, manufacturing, sales, and support of PCs and PC-related products. Based out of Round Rock, Texas, Dell currently employs over 76,000 people worldwide. Dell's computer sales were the third highest in 2009, next to Hewlett-Packard and Acer. The company is most popular for their computing and networking products, such as Dell PCs and Dell servers. Dell also produces data storage units, network switches, software, high-definition TVs, cameras, printers, MP3 players, etc. While assembly, software installation, product testing, and quality control are all part of Dell's reputable manufacturing process, the company also runs a services unit that provides asset recovery, financing, infrastructure consulting, support, systems integration, and training.
