About Mitsubishi
Mitsubishi Electric is a subsidiary of the Mitsubishi Group, a Japanese conglomerate consisting of a range of independently run businesses that share the Mitsubishi brand. Mitsubishi Electric is headquartered in the Tokyo Building in Tokyo, Japan. The corporation primarily manufactures electric and architectural products. Mitsubishi's US division is based in Cypress, California. On the consumer end, the company primarily manufactures high-definition televisions, large-scale LED displays, and multimedia projectors. The company exclusively manufactured direct-view CRT televisions until 2001; but as of 2008, Mitsubishi Electric's Visual Information Systems group has been focusing on DLP and LCD technologies for their high-definition TVs.
Mitsubishi Electric televisions and projectors are renowned for their superb picture quality and performance. In October of 2008, Mitsubishi Electric launched the world's first laser television, the LaserVue. The technology delivers twice the color at one-third of the power consumption of most of its high-def competitors. The company's Unisen television is the first premium flat panel to boast a 16-speaker Dolby® Digital Plus 5.1 channel surround sound system built directly into the unit. And their Mitsubishi Home Theater TV line comes equipped with 3D-ready capability. Technically, anything is possible, is a recent slogan that Mitsubishi Electric has adopted. The company also produces mobile phones for NTT DoCoMo, the predominant mobile phone operator in Japan.
