Many calculators are designed to be pocketed and carried around. There are, however, many boxier machines designed to be placed semi-permanently on a desk. These devices have flat bottoms and often have wider buttons. Desktops come in a standard size as well as a small size.
There are three primary types of calculators. Basic calculators are able to do basic arithmetic. Business and scientific calculators generally include many other functions necessary for statistical analysis and higher level math. Graphic calculators are those able to actually display small images, such as graphs.
