Many calculators are designed to be pocketed and carried around. There are, however, many boxier machines designed to be placed semi-permanently on a desk. These devices have flat bottoms and often have wider buttons. Desktops come in a standard size as well as a small size.
There are three primary types of calculators. Basic calculators are able to do basic arithmetic. There are various ways of powering your calculator. Solar energy powered calculators have a small solar panel that generates energy when there is sunlight. There are also calculators that use batteries in conjunction with solar power, or just batteries alone. Finally, there are calculators that plug into an electrical outlet through an AC cord.
