• Oracle DBA

Oracle DBA   Location: New York, NY or Boulder, CO

Looking for a versatile Oracle DBA to design, implement, support, and maintain a large database application. Multiple tasking is essential.

Responsibilities

• Design and create database schemas, including data files, tables, and indexes.
• Monitor and performance tune system.
• Develop custom PL/SQL and SQL*Plus scripts.
• Troubleshoot development and production issues.
• Provide 24x7 production environment support.
• Maintain backups for all databases and regularly test restores.
• Work closely with application developers to materialize required database modifications.
• Maintain and support production database and data warehouse.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience with Oracle (preferably in an e-commerce environment).
• Experience with 10g RAC and Rman in a production environment.
• Experience with MySQL in a production environment is a big plus.
• Experience with Perl DBI programming is a big plus.
• 3+ year experience with e-commerce or related 24x7 Internet databases.
• 3+ year experience working with Oracle in a UNIX environment.
• Experience writing shell scripts for monitoring all areas within the database and experience with SQL.
• Solid understanding of RAID systems.
• Strong communications skills (presentation and documentation) and interpersonal skills required.
